Blister

Symptoms: A blister is a fluid-filled pocket under the top layer of the skin.

Causes: Blisters are typically a result of fight or ill-fitting shoes that cause a heat build up and friction. Increased perspiration, caused by, for example, wearing polyester socks or wearing wet shoes can also bring on blisters. The heat and friction cause the layers of skin to be pulled apart and fluid from the surrounding tissues flows into the created space, resulting often in a severe pain.

Treatment: Please note: If you are diabetic or have visual problems, don't treat blisters yourself! Large blisters should be looked after by your doctor. Otherwise, in the case of a small blister it should be sufficient to cover it with a small plaster.
