Salt
Too much salt (sodium) in the diet can increase the risk of high blood pressure and stroke.
Most people in the UK eat more than 9-12 grams of salt per day, which is twice as much as the recommended daily intake.
Avoid adding salt to your meals and try not to add salt during cooking. Try alternative ways of seasoning your foods such as lemon juice, garlic, herbs and spices.
