Head injuries

Depending on the force of the impact of your head onto the ground, you might be confused for a few seconds or completely lose consciousness.

An older person who had recurrent falls and is confused or drowsy will need a CT/MRI scan to see if there is an internal bleeding in or around the brain. Scans may also help to diagnose other conditions e.g. stroke.

Head injury is a relatively rare occurrence and needs to be put into context.
