Treatment at hospital

The medical care you receive at the hospital will depend on your injury. Minor injuries such as bruises will be cleaned and dressed with a bandage. Hip fractures may involve surgery in which the broken parts are linked back together using surgical screws. Sometimes parts of the hip are replaced by a metal prosthesis. A broken arm or wrist may be immobilised in a cast.

Once your medical condition is stable you will undergo a detailed assessment and receive initial rehabilitation.
