Shoulder dislocation
A dislocation is when two bones come apart at their joint. This can happen when your body collides with the ground and the force of the impact continues up through the bone pulling or pushing one bone away from another.
The shoulder is a complex joint of the body and dislocates more than any other joint. The shoulder joint is like a ball in a socket and can be moved in many directions. The most common type of dislocation is the 'anterior' dislocation to the front of your body, which can be caused by a fall onto your out-stretched arm or the shoulder itself.
A dislocated joint is treated by repositioning the ball of the joint back into the joint socket.
